“Whenever you work on a lighting design, you need to find the right balance between architectural/design needs, human needs and energy efficiency. Think of it as a triangle, there cannot be an abundance or absence of any of the mentioned elements. As a light designer, we need to be struck with our design concepts.”

“I believe quality of light will be one of the most important elements for lighting designs. Rather than focusing on intricate designs, light designs should accentuate on improving people's wellbeing. In the future, homes will be filled with ambient light that does not only promote the sense of wellbeing, but also provides additional functions such as sound, security, improving internet access and more. This phenomenon will further enhance our understanding and expectations of light in other places such as workplace and entertainment venues. Flexible lighting will reduce wiring and installation cost. Elements of lighting quality including colour, consistency and colour rendering will become the essentials.”
